Among many acquisitions, which enrich their curriculum, the quality seal of the Tea House and KK Stúdio Dance which gets its name are the most recent achievements. What is the next step / challenge? What is certainly included in your list of goals for 2012?
Aida -> Yes, these achievements were very important in my professional life. I continue with my studies dance, trying to grow steadily. We are extending the Stúdio Dance, with more classes, belly dancing, drumming lessons Arabic, enhancement for dancers, yoga and ballet. The idea is to never stop! I love teaching and I love to dance!
Would you face an international career today or working a season performing in hotels abroad? Or, faced with so many local victories, this is a possibility that not on his mind at the moment?
Aida -> A few years ago, I confess that now, yes, dancing through my head overseas. It would be a time to be closer to my family who lives in Egypt - my father is Egyptian, my whole family by his father lives there - and also a great opportunity to practice Arabic. Unfortunately, at the time I had the chance I was in college - I graduated in Biology from Unicamp (Campinas / SP) - and I chose not to stop my studies. Soon after I graduated from undergraduate, Masters in UFScar spliced. Today I do not regret the decisions I made. After all, my other passion, outside the dance, it's biology.
At this moment I am focusing on Stúdio Dance. But I'm planning a trip abroad where I want to study with great professionals such as spinal anesthesia Hassan and Mohamed Shahin.
Currently there is a great debate on social networks on the overexploitation of ballet movements of oriental dance in Arabic. What do you think of the "ballet of the womb," as this issue has been called?
Aida -> I believe that ballet is very important for any kind of dance. With it, you better posture, stretching, muscle strengthening, among other things. What often happens is that the ballet ends overlapping the belly dancing. There are certain ballet movements that do not fit in belly dance, as the posture very stiff, some positions of arms and legs etc.. Belly dancing gives us a "springiness" that does not exist in the ballet. I want to make clear that I am not against ballet. Instead, I practice ballet. It acts as well as yoga and pilates, only as a source helper in belly dance. It is important to remember that ballet is ballet and belly dance is belly dancing.
If you had to define today's belly dance in your life in one word what would it be? Why?
Aida -> Life. Why do I dream dance, with dance is that I work, with me at events and lecturing. The dance allows a very positive exchange with my students, I love to see them leave happier school. I've had students who reported me to come in the class as a time to "unwind" where they can forget their everyday problems and think more of them. Belly dancing awakens the feminine in women. The dance brings joy to those who dance and for those who lauds.
To grow professionally, are partnerships essential? What is your recipe for success?
Aida -> I believe that good partnerships are crucial. No one lives alone in this world we live in society! The important thing is to recognize good opportunities and good people. If we give opportunities to the poor, they can disrupt a lot. The secret is to work honestly and enjoy what they do!
I would like to leave a message for our readers?
Aida -> First, I want to thank you for your kindness and invitation! It was great to share a little of what I believe and my experience. Remember, dance is art. In it, we can seek joy, friends and physical activity. The success and recognition come with study and dedication. The most important thing in life is to be happy and live in harmony!
I love this excerpt from a text of Rubens Alves: "... every moment of beauty lived and loved, for that is ephemeral, is a complete experience that is destined for eternity. A single moment of beauty and love justifies a lifetime" . Viva ... dance ... and be happy! Love in the heart of all ... Aida Gamal

How to build your dance solo
How to build your dance solo
Photo: Aleksandra Savina Not that elaborate choreography is not effective. It's a lot! One learns very scrutinizing each phrase of the song, full of melodies, strings and rhythmic flourishes, and applying consistent sequences. What ends up sometimes being lost in this routine mechanical structure is ready steps are pleased to get carried away by the music. That urge to decorate the order of movements and their respective counts, it is common, especially among novice dancers, the nervousness stamp the face and the presentation becomes automatic, without any feeling and expression - except for the aforementioned.
So the first tip to get your solo a success is to choose a song that you like enough, to be identified. Then listen to it 'one thousand' times, and each mentally hum taps, and marking your breaks. Understand that dance is just a story told through a song. You belly dancer, is the narrator and depends on you convey the emotion of this reading, featuring the character, showing his adventures, dramas and joys and finishing. Given this comparison, it is clear that switches molejo face and body should not only be introduced by the dancer in the dance, it is your responsibility to bring out those highlights, that break with the basis of linear context.
That dance improvisation does not presuppose that the ballerina dance away at random. In contrast, also allows a deep dip in the structure of music, since that will require you to study and identify the composition of the dance, but without the desire to follow a completely pre-set schedule. As a story, you have a beginning, middle and end, has a climax, a moment of introspection and an element of surprise. Work with these alternatives. Make an entrance with two or three changes in the veil and do the dance, that 'boom' (marking the track) you can set that will bend over and touch the flute, will rise like a snake, and then follow the dance ... In this sense, improvisation, different choreography, allows a release, a fluidity, a superior delivery to the persons performing the movements, which are conscious, but are not bound by a prior and full planning.
Other factors that contribute to the enrichment of its soil are aware that the environment where you will make possible the use of certain accessories (if there are ceiling fans, lights very low, very close tables etc ...); surprising the public with a more elaborate step, breaking the course, working the dance in all directions (sometimes there are people up behind the dancer, who are affected with a performance full frontal plane); center stage or space in which Your dance will be performed, and interact with the public (smile, make a joke or other / cute or call someone to dance with you, always with great politeness and respect). At the end of his song, freeze for a few seconds in her final pose, and before retiring, thank the audience. If your music does not have a final impact, that is, finish lowering bit by bit, follow the melody, exit and return to the stage thanks.
That's ... Punctuating the main topics, rehearsing the details until you feel safe and prepared and confident in their work, the rest is to take advantage and enjoy those 3, 5 or 8 minutes music fly by ..!Article from Mahaila Tat IshtarTop tip: If you are looking for help to understand music notation and be able to choreograph why don't you try The Foundation Certified Course by Hossam and Serena Ramzy? The Belly Dancer's Best Friend
The Belly Dancer's Best Friend
Various sizes and colors, an unique feature: security. Yes, that's what I'm talking about himself, the safety pin! In the South Brazil, where I came from, it is called ladybug. But regardless of how you refer to it, the fact is that in the middle of belly dancing it is indispensable, is to hold the belt on the skirt, the skirt in panties, give at the close of enhancing bustier or all three together.
It's almost an innate ability of those who present themselves. You wear the dressand the ritual begins: put one, two, three, many or all of the pins that you took in the suitcase. All this without counting the pieces of your own costume already havehooks, buttons, velcro and limited company. Safety is never enough, isn't it? After all, who's never heard of an episode in which the belt dance more than the belly dancer, or bustier that someone opened in the middle of the song? Better be safe.
Like any self-respecting friendship, relationship with the safety pin disagreements also exist, the moments that take seriously. Forgot how many times have you struggled, pushed and even asked for help to someone you trust to put the blessed and nothing pierce the fabric of her clothes? Boot one hand, warp, strip, new places, wears again .. When it does not break. Let's be patient! (rs)
And all the times that someone got hurt this fight - usually you (rs)! Cast the first stone one that, in this quarrel, never stuck his finger. Who sees you dancing all beautiful in front of the spotlight can not imagine this battle behind the scenes, backstage, minutes before you go onstage.
Well, do not they say that friendship is the acceptance of others as he is? Then, taking the cue and "picking up a hook" in that statement, overcome difficulties and leave differences aside. You & the safety pin, a relationship that goes right and goes away.

Interview with Warda Maravilha by Mahaila Tat Ishtar
Warda Maravilha - Famous Brazilian Belly Dancer How do you work with your students the differents styles, that you have adopted as (being) its standard and non-creation of dancers clones? Warda -> They know my style, and inside, I present the variations. Also because my standard is quite varied, free and loose. Also always show videos of dancers who are my idols, like Fouad Naju and Nadia Jamal, for example. But above all, learning to keep their essences.
In your opinion, why is it that our country affects both the patterns of belly dancing in the market, recognizing either as an ideal, which ends up promoting a certain bias with that model presented in our different category?
Warda -> This is true! I was very sad when I returned to Brazil *, and I look at it very closely on juries dance. The problem is quite complex. The lack of grip to impose themselves, I believe that is the main cause. I am what I am always and never changed my way for me to fit into any alleged default, since I always know that my style fits perfectly in the real Arab world, then would not accept anyone who would tell me otherwise.
I believe that we have changed a lot about it in Brazil. But we still have to work harder for everyone to choose their own styles by personal taste.
* Warda spent 12 ½ years in Arab countries like Dubai, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, among others.
For international career, the shoes are a requirement. In its place, here in Brazil, you encourage the use of their students?
Warda -> Personally, I only dance jump. But do not force her, no. Also because I have students of all ages, and work it well. But the use of step to me, is undoubtedly much more elegant.
In another interview, you said that there are many differences between dancing in Brazil and abroad. With regard to makeup, there are also disparities?
Warda -> The makeup abroad are much more beautiful than in Brazil, are arts. Different colours are used, smoky .. In Brazil, that makeup is always used very basic. I am full wagon when it comes to makeup, total Lebanese.
If you were not a dancer and belly dance teacher, what profession would follow? Why?
Warda -> Probably something in the beauty - I'm in love with beauty. Or actress.
I would like to leave a message for our readers?
Warda -> Study hard, watch many videos, not just those that everybody knows, and yes, those who are different, who are or have essentially Arabic! Kisses in the heart.

After all, who is master?
After all, who is master?Rule that dictates the teacher is one who holds a Master degree, title of academic degree what happens to the degree awarded to an individual who showed complete mastery of a subject on which the study had a specific and directed.
But let's be sensible, this term is quite relative. An example of this is the relentless controversy over the regulation of the profession of journalism. Currently, to hold the office do not need the degree. Now: should be considered less professional who, despite having no straw, does its job competently, often even better than a student or graduate of the course? How many renowned professionals and active today, the media, precursors of lines of thought, models and diagramming program formats, would be disqualified, according to this viewpoint? Teachers are not they? According to the Department of Education, no. And as soon as this training can not be mentioned in the curriculum, because teacher is one who has the record. But even this is the reality?
Not destroy the merit of who owns study (yes, they are all teachers!). The idea here is to be open to acceptance by those who have knowledge, experience and innovative ability to create methods to develop their own activities, education, and encourage those who enjoy common interests to not only become followers imitate him, but also produce their own styles.
Confused? Not so. In belly dancing, this concept can also be applied and it is precisely this purpose. Who is the master belly dance? Master is not only one who presents and teaches techniques - it's up to the teacher-adviser - but especially one who is creator of concepts and biggest supporter of so many other creations by the students. No diminishing the teacher-adviser (he also has his prestige, as it is located and instructs existing practices). But unlike the master, he only plays.
From this point of view, not always time to market or education is crucial to label this or that person as a teacher. And, following this line of reasoning, it is feasible to say that even a student can be considered master. Look, I'm not saying that everyone is, but simply ensuring the existence of this possibility, since the student meets the requirements for classification as such.
Therefore, prevention measures to extremism, the promotion of the title or unbridled preaching of the strict maximum level that deals with - "who has a master's master" - try to keep an open mind before making judgments and above all, accepted that always has something to be learned and that the person next to you, sometimes it is able to present a solution, or teaching aid. The next may surprise you quietly.
PS: Interestingly, while concluding this article, I turned on the television, and suddenly, I came across a channel that was showing Kung Fu Panda. If you have not seen it, watch and think ..!
